Who can benefit from Pilates?

Anyone can benefit, older adults, athletes, individuals wanting to improve overall body awareness, control and strength and muscle tone. Pilates also improves mobility, flexibility, balance and coordination. This helps to reduce pain, improve confidence to move and help stress reduction.

If you have a medical condition, recent injury or restrictions in movement you can check with Susan to see if her class will be suitable and benefit you. The class is a modified Pilates class designed to accommodate people of all abilities and those with certain health conditions as well as those not carrying any health concerns.

You can contact Susan by phone or email to discuss what you would like to achieve, your treatment goals, and any health concerns or conditions you may have.

This is usually done via a health questionnaire. If all is fine to move forward you have 2 options of how you can participate in Pilates.

Either a group class or more individualised sessions of 1:1 or 2:1. The classes can be pay as you go at £10 per session and you can come and go as needed or slightly cheaper you can book a 6 week block for £45. 

Dales physio accepts cash, cards & BACS transfers. 

Classes are currently run at 16:15 on Tuesdays. 

Pilates is a great way to either start from doing no physical exercise to those already involved in regular activity and sport.

The classes are gauged at all levels so you can pick where to start according to your current ability or just how you feel on the day!

Pilates can be adapted to suit your needs. You can rest and stop at any time during the classes.

I have worked as a physiotherapist for 27 years. During this time it has been my pleasure to work with many people from a variety of backgrounds, involved in elite sporting rehabilitation, the private sector, Defence Rehabilitation and the NHS.

I have extensive knowledge in all musculoskeletal problems and treatments including working as and Advanced physiotherapy practitioner referring for MRI, X-Ray and ultrasound scans and performing corticosteroid injections. Over the last 20 years I have taken a personal interest and great satisfaction in being able to help those with headache, migraine and face pain as well as dizziness.
